The interdisciplinary collective monograph "The Jewish Heritage in Ukraine: Culture, History, Literature and Beyond" has been published.
The Jewish heritage in Ukraine encompasses various aspects of historical and cultural life — literature, education, science, religion, the activities of cultural institutions, and personal histories. The monograph examines these topics through a combination of approaches from various humanities disciplines. The authors draw on archival documents, museum materials, literary texts, and other sources to explore specific pages of the history and culture of the Jewish community in Ukraine, as well as Ukrainian-Jewish relations.
Among the research topics are the history of Jewish cultural and scholarly institutions, museum collections and publishing activities, literary heritage, biographies of individual figures, and the preservation of historical memory. Special attention is given to materials that had not previously been introduced into scholarly circulation.
The full text of the monograph is available online.
The publication was prepared as part of the project «The Jewish Heritage in Ukraine: Interdisciplinary Reflections through the Lens of Archival Documents, Culture, History, and Literature», implemented by the National University of «Kyiv-Mohyla Academy» with the support of UNESCO Ukraine and the European Union in Ukraine.
