The Virtual Museum of Jewish history and culture of Ukraine presents a new exhibition section dedicated to the archives of Jewish writers. This project was created by the cultural heritage research group within the framework of the «Jewish Heritage in Ukraine» initiative.
The preliminary results of the research were presented on March 26, 2026, at the thematic conference «Jewish studies in the archives, libraries and museums of Ukraine: challenges in search, research and preservation».

Every year on January 27, the world observes International Holocaust Remembrance Day, honoring the victims of the Nazi regime, including six million Jews. In Ukraine, the tragedy of the Jewish people is an inseparable part of the nation’s history and collective memory.
An important stage of the project was the research trip of Anna Umanska, a member of the historical research team, to Odesa - a city that was one of the most important centers of Jewish cultural, religious, and intellectual life in the 19th and the first half of the 20th centuries.
The Virtual Museum of Jewish History and Culture in Ukraine is launching a new page dedicated to the legacy of Moisey Beregovsky, one of the leading researchers of Jewish musical folklore in Eastern Europe.
These efforts are part of a broader UNESCO initiative aimed at preserving Ukraine’s Jewish documentary heritage, honoring collective memory, expanding knowledge and access to archives, and promoting intercultural dialogue, implemented with the support of the European Union.
On October 30, 2025, the official opening of the large-scale research project «Jewish Heritage in Ukraine: Interdisciplinary Reflections through the Prism of Archival Documents, Culture, History, and Literature» took place at the NaUKMA Museum.
